What this site keeps about you, and what it does not.

Short, because there is not much. TheyName is one person in the United Kingdom. The site collects what it needs to answer your inquiry, run a Review, build your site and take payment for it.

01

Who is responsible

Charlie Kaylor, trading as TheyName, The Powerhouse, Honeylands, Langport, Somerset, TA10 0EJ, United Kingdom. For anything on this page, email hello@theyname.com and a person answers.

02

When you send an inquiry

The form on the project page asks for your name, your email, your business name, your current website, what you'd like to change, an approximate budget and your timing. It also notes the page you first landed on, the site that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link. All of it goes to my office system, where I keep inquiries. If that system can't take it, it reaches me by email instead. You get one email back saying it arrived.

While you type, your answers are kept in your browser tab so a reload doesn't lose them. They're cleared once the inquiry is sent, or when you close the tab.

03

If you buy a Strategy Review

You pay on Stripe's checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe and never to this site or to me. Stripe passes the order to my office system, so the questionnaire opens with your business and contact details filled in. Your answers go to my office system, or to me by email if it's down. The questionnaire asks you to leave out your customers' names, contact details, health or treatment details and payments. How long I keep Review material is set out in the terms.

04

If you start a build

The start form asks for your name, cell phone, email and website, the build you chose and whether you want site care. Those details go to my office system and to me by email, and you get one email back saying they arrived. Payment is then taken by Stripe, which receives your email and a reference so I can match the payment to your details. Your card details go to Stripe and never to this site or to me. Stripe keeps a record of the terms you accepted and when.

05

The welcome form

Once we've agreed a project, I may send you a private link to a form about your business: your photos, your prices, your booking tool, who else should see inquiries, and similar. Every question is optional. Your answers go to my office system and to me by email.

06

Emailed reads and previews

If I've emailed you a read of your website, the page it links to works only from that link, is kept out of search engines, and tells me when it was opened. A preview page is built from a business's public website and kept for up to a week so it loads quickly. It holds nothing about the person viewing it.

07

Booking a call

Call links open Calendly in a new tab. What you enter there goes to Calendly and to my calendar, under Calendly's own privacy policy. Calls run on Google Meet, and I record them with Fathom so I can go back to what you said. I say so at the start of the call, and if you'd rather I didn't, I won't.

08

What is measured

The site counts page views with Vercel Analytics and records a few actions, such as a form being started or sent, a call link clicked or a payment started. Those counts carry no name, email or IP address. A private link, like an emailed read or your welcome form, is counted without the part that makes it private. The counts tell me which pages do their job and which don't.

There is no advertising tracking, no pixel from any ad network and no session recording. This site sets no cookies of its own.

09

The services behind it

Vercel hosts this site and my office system. Resend sends its email. Stripe takes payments. Calendly books calls, Google Meet runs them and Fathom records them.

10

If you become a client

Your site runs in accounts registered in your name, and the inquiries it takes are yours. I hold a copy of what I need to do the work and delete it when we stop working together, except what the law makes me keep for the accounts.

11

Your rights

You can ask what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and ask me to stop emailing you, and I will do it. Email hello@theyname.com. If you are not happy with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom.
